Testimonials

"Jackie worked at the Island Project school for two years providing occupational therapy for children and young people with ASC and associated complex needs. At all times when working with pupils (and their parents), and whether carrying out assessments or delivering therapy, Jackie has shown an empathy and understanding of all of the sensory challenges faced by our pupils. Her knowledge has been of great benefit to the school and during her time, Jackie has been a calm, professional presence. She has worked exceptionally well with all of the senior leadership team and other therapists, and is a well-respected colleague who will be sadly missed. You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."

Jackie was very warm and friendly, she was careful not to heighten Ds anxiety anymore than it already was. Not many would sit next to a litter tray to carry out assessments but Jackie did so D felt safe and he began to slowly engage. Jackie was calm and soft in her tone, which is also helpful esp for a child with spd and has difficulties with auditory processing.
The assessment was quick which was a huge help to D. He enjoyed us both laughing with him saying it helped him “ get it right” but it did keep him focused and engaged.
The report highlights the areas D has difficulties in and what he is like when he is first introduced to new people which is very important for people to know, esp when they don’t know D and his behaviours.
It shows the areas he needs additional help and support in, and areas he’s got strengths.
I’m looking forward to seeing the recommendations implemented into Ds EHCP, i would definitely recommend Jackie as a therapist. She is a lovely warm hearted lady.

What a find!
It was a case of pot luck when I asked Jackie to come and assess a lad at school in Warwickshire – and I think we stuck gold!! She was extremely professional in her approach, had excellent communication skills, and obviously enjoys working with children!
The report we received from her summed up C’s difficulties really well, it contained excellent advice and strategies for us to work on.

SLT at school (7 year old)

Jackie carried out a sensory assessment on my 9 year old daughter, E, who is on the autism spectrum. Although I’d read about the high incidence of sensory processing difficulties in children with ASD, I hadn’t really appreciated the results these had on E in both her day to day life and particularly her learning. Part of the assessment was done at school and E’s teachers told me how professional and friendly they’d found Jackie.
The report Jackie prepared was very thorough and detailed and the recommendations she made are already being put into place and are making a difference to E’s learning. I’d have no hesitation in seeking professional advice from Jackie in the future.

Jackie has been doing Sensory Integration work with our son for approximately 3 months.  Jackie is friendly and helpful she writes clear reports with recommendations for the week ahead, she responds promptly to any questions in between sessions.  The activities are presented in a relaxed and fun way which engages our son, even when he doesn't feel like it.  We have seen definite, positive results.

Jackie is a fabulous therapist, very knowledgeable and efficient with replies to emails with advice. During the assessment she really listened to my concerns and has a warm and kind nature which is just perfect for our 7 year old son who has Autism. Overall very happy with our choice of therapist and would highly recommend.

In our opinion Jackie is a wonderfully experienced, caring and knowledgeable OT. She has worked with our daughter who has sensory processing issues for over a year. She is patient, knowledgeable and thorough in her work and we are so grateful for the support she has provided thus far.
We have noticed our daughter has made rapid progress and she continues to progress in many areas, thanks to Jackie.
The support that Jackie continues to provide greatly enhances our daughter’s wellbeing and our family day-to-day life and we are eternally grateful for this input. It is suffice to say that we are not entirely sure where we would be as a family if it were not for Jackie.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Jackie’s services to any family or professional who may require Occupational Therapy.

After having suspicions that my daughter was experiencing sensory integration challenges , Jackie was recommended to us and soon got underway taking time to listen to my observations / worries and how my daughters functioning was being impacted . Following assessment at home and school , Jackie clearly outlined the areas that had been identified while remaining professionally and empathic at all times . We took up some block intervention sessions and these were the highlight to my daughters week ! With work in the sessions and carrying on with tasks outside of the appointments, the difference this has had on my daughters and our families day to day life has been phenomenal. My daughter engaged so well because of how Jackie presented the sessions and made them fun ! Cannot fault Jackie on her knowledge, passion , professionalism and her empathetic nature
